Writer

I’ve spent most of my career as a commercial writer, working in advertising, public relations, journalism, and book publishing. I’ve written everything from catalogs for drill bits and circular saw blades to national magazine cover stories to three books. For an outdated portfolio link, click here. In 2001 or thereabouts, I launched Walkabout Press, Inc. Then, in 2006, I put my publishing company on hiatus and attended Vermont College of Fine Arts to use an MFA in Writing to teach. Since 2008, I’ve been teaching in UNC-Charlotte’s Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies Department), and I’ve been writing in the summers.
